Dance Teacher
Irineu Nogueira is far from being an ordinary dance instructor. His methodology is unique, not relying on conventional choreography and rhythm steps. It is completely different from the everyday and customary "1,2,3,4..." ways of conveying the art of dancing. Dance classes are filled with sheer happiness, creativity, hearty music and plasticity.

Artist Preparation & Choreography
A new generation of Brazilian singers take with them to the stages, more often than ever, not only their gifted voices, but also choreographed dances carefully elaborated by Irineu Nogueira.
In this work, Irineu calls forth all his experience with musical groups, converting each rehearsal into a distinct spectacle. Moreover, he pays tribute, in each and every exhibition, to the staggering dance ability of human beings.

Dancer & Performer
Suffice it to say, Irineu's body movements had emerged long before he discovered dance. The skills acquired during his athletics career combined with the experience and study of Brazilian popular dances and contemporary styles mingled and pierced into his unconsciousness bodily awareness, prompting him to pursue a unique style of body expression. A note swiftly becomes a Samba chord and music of all sorts fuels his movement creativity.
Irineu has performed together with renowned international groups, having also learned considerably from fruitful experiences with opera, musical, theatre, cinema and circus.

Choreographer for Brazilian Carnival
Turning amateur dancers and average civilians into protagonists of the greatest Mardi Gras parade on earth in a limited period of time has been one of Irineu's tasks in the past few years.
A follower of the motto: “Anyone can dance, express him or herself and interpret a story”, when choreographing the performance of a "Comissão de Frente", Irineu not only delivers his unmatchable creativeness and intrepidness - responsible for his "Estandarte de Ouro" award – but also dedicates himself to transform those under his wings into better human beings.

Dance Company
The Abieié Dance Company group was formed in 2006 with the aspiration of establishing the goals of the director Irineu Nogueira, who was eager to deepen the research and development of his own style. The eclecticism and diversity of the Afro-Brazilian culture associated with contemporary dance techniques were the inspiration and currently make up the foundations of the company's identity.
The choreography is defined by the high stamina sequences, the delicacy and grace of the choreographic poetry and by the plastic richness that counteracts with the relentless stirring and search for the path to express the artistic thinking through dance movements.
